Passport & Visa Information    

Delegates from outside the EU must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the Meeting. Please check your visa requirements at the web-site of the Portal of the Hungarian Ministry of Foregin Affairs.

Liability

The conference organizer will bear no liability for loss, accident, damage or injury to persons or property irrespective of the cause. The client participates at all sessions, tours and events at his/her own risk. Sole place of jurisdiction is Munich, Germany. German law is applicable. It is recommended that delegates arrange for appropriate travel and health insurance prior to traveling.

Climate and Clothing

The weather in Hungary in May is usually sunny and warm. Temperatures are usually in the range between 22 and 27°C during the day. The evenings can be cool, a light jacket is advisable. Casual dress is appropriate for conference functions.

Currency, Exchange and Credit Cards

The official currency in Hungary is Hungarian Forint. Exchange facilities are offered to participants at the airport, in hotels, at the exchange desk of the banks or at the venue of the congress at the Hotels & Tours Desk at a daily indicated rate.

Metric System

Hungary, a nation of the European Union, uses the metric system of weights and measures. Temperatures are given in degrees Celsius; distances and speed limits are indicated in kilometers; dimensions in meters and centimeters; volume in liters and milliliters; weights in kilograms and grams.

Restaurants & Tipping

There are a wide variety of restaurants and cafés in Budapest ranging through the elegant and sophisticated to the casual and inexpensive. Restaurants and bars along the River Dannube, in Liszt Ferenc square and in Raday Street close to the Congress site, become very popular, especially at weekend nights. Tipping is optional, but normally 10 % is customary in taxis, restaurants and bars.

Voltage/Electrical Current

In Hungary, electricity is supplied at 230 V, 50 Hz.

Shopping hours

The usual shopping hours in Budapest are from 10:00 to 18:00, in big shopping centres around the city up to 21:00. For further information please contact the Hotels & Tours Desk.

Notice for drivers

Drivers should be aware that there is a zero tolerance of blood alcohol level while driving in Hungary. Parking is available at the open air parking area of the Conference Venue free of charge. If you park in the city center on week days you have to pay for parking.
